Welcome to my blog! Your Questions?…ask me! – Karene

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am OPENING this blog to let you know I am glad to answer questions from you, the readers. Just leave your question in the comment section of any post and I will make every effort to find an answer for you. You can also go to my informational blog,  My Itchy Dog.  I have all kinds of information there, and I’ll be glad to talk with you on the phone as well,  just give me a call! We’re embracing new ways to communicate and bring our passion for supporting our animal brothers and sisters, and YOU in a foundational way.  Either way, we don’t just sell, we educate!

Also, feel free to send in your pet photos so we can keep track of our furry friends growing up!

For those of you who do not know me : My husband and I have owned and operated Delilah’s for about 25 years. It was originally called Custom Grooming, and it was a grooming shop. Within a short period of time we got very interested in pet supplies. There are a lot of good things on the market , but there is also a lot of junk out there.

We think products and companies are only as good as the person running the company. The art of selling is knowing the right questions to ask the customer to figure out which product will solve the customers problem. You can only spend your money one time.

I went to vet tech school at Purdue University in 1992 and graduated in 1994. I went back to school because there was a huge influx of allergies in young dogs. It didn’t seem like the problem was being addressed very well. We were pretty sure Cortisone wasn’t the answer.

I did my intern/externship with Dr. Grieshaber, an animal allergist in Indianapolis. At the time he was the only allergist in the state of Indiana with the exception of Purdue University. I was then privileged to work for him for 1 1/2 years after graduation.

The approach we take is through nutrition and we have helped hundreds of animals heal themselves. We feed an animal’s body to facilitate it to be able to support and heal itself. A lesson to be learned about our own nutrition!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention I have been a groom for 48 years.

We will keep you all posted on what is going on at the shop and if you have any questions, write them in. You may leave a comment here, or send your questions to delilahspetshop@gmail.com.

Thanks for reading,

Karene

Hi Karene! My name is Maura and I used to work for you at Custom Grooming when I was a middle schooler. I had two Italian Greyhounds and my mom and I fostered that little Papillon, Sparky! I hope you remember me. :) I am so glad to have found your website, and happy to see that everything is going well at Delilah’s!
